An excellent Alien meets Abyss meets Sphere meets Walking Dead meets the Thing movie (by everymanonearth) |
The fact that this movie seems to be wholly filmed on a single set doesn't detract from what I consider pretty darned good acting and a plausible, yet borrowed from all over the place, story line. The conclusion completes the integration of the whole set of genres. I must say that I actually didn't see that coming.. Alien, Abyss, Sphere, The Walking Dead and The Thing were all great movies in their own right and I personally enjoyed them all, if you could imagine a movie that could successfully extract some of the best parts/concepts from all of these and then actually combine them <more> |
Watch this Movie!! The low rating is Bogus! (by elsidaliaj) |
I don't write many reviews, but just writing to tell you guys to watch this movie, the rating of 5.3 is laughable. The movie is a strong high 6.8ish this is going by the old IMDb ratings, before retards started rating every super hero movie a 9. It starts off a bit weak, but starts picking up steam very quickly, it just keeps getting better and better, until the very end. There is a part in the movie that you will start cracking up laughing, it was purposely done, and plays very well. Even through that it still has a very serious atmosphere. I have to write 10 lines which is just bizarre <more> |
Smart and unique (by josephawhitby) |
Personally I think this film is one of a kind, I haven't seen anything like it and I couldn't predict what was going to happen, it was so unique and unpredictable and that is what every film should be, without giving anything away whatever you think is going to happen, probable wont be right and the ending was so smart.Although I cant see them making a sequel to this film I think it could have set itself up for one near the end with the photo if you have seen the full film you will know what I mean and I would gladly go and spend money to watch it, that is not something I say very <more> |
Thought Provoking SCI FI with Balls (by lbarrow-1) |
I wasn't expecting much from this film. I was wrong. It reminded me a bit of Pandorum which I also liked. Essentially a team of soldiers get sent to a rock at the end of space which contains a biological organism which contaminates on contact with the skin.I don't want to spoil much so the acting was of a high standard. The storyline unfolds at a fast pace. It kept me interested all the way through. The sets created for the bleak space station were very impressive. The psychosis experienced by some of the inhabitants of the station was particularly well handled. My favourite bit was the <more> |
Predatory Solaris (by siderite) |
The rating this film has on IMDb does it no justice. It is well written, well directed and well acted. More than that, it has a true chance for an intelligent sequel, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of films. It is this kind of film that I like best: a nice blend of sci-fi and horror, without any of them getting the upper hand. While it is true it has borrowed from movies like Alien and The Thing and even Solaris, it does this with style, paying homage rather than ripping off. Also, while it can be attributed to a lower budget, the film is not so rich in special effects, <more> |
Very good sci-fi (by gdesmet-01554) |
I think this film is awesome, and not as traditional as we may think. But indeed while seeing this moving we are remembering some of the greatest references like The Thing or Event Horizon. Photography is at its best, with many time lags, space shifts, distortions and disturbing effects that reveals the horror and the primal fear involved in the scenario. Actors are also really good. Music is also very interesting and could be use for role playing games ambient. I highly recommend to people who are looking for horror sci-fi playing with dementia. |
Way better then 70% of sci fi movies in the last 3 years (by seven_pub) |
OK so it's not the common type of Hollywood big budged, I agree. Well you might even need to drink 2 or 3 beers to get inside that universe, but if you do it's a damn good movie, it keeps you thinking, the message is simple, yet I can't say I have seen a similar idea so far and I've seen thousands of movies. Acting is decent, so are the few action scenes, which I have to say they are not many but enough to keep you hooked.Who knows if it had a budget like Alien or Prometheus it might have been quite a masterpiece. My opinion, give it a try, you might really like it if you are <more> |
Pleasantly surprising, good sci-fi!! (by luka3991) |
As always I started weighing my choices of movies for the evening by consulting several movie-review sites, amongst which also IMDb. When I saw the 5.4 rating I thought it might be some kind of cheap-shot bad attempt at movie-making, however after going through some of the reviews here most of which were actually encouraging I decided to give it a try anyway. What I got was almost 2 hours of so much tension that afterward I realized I had literally not moved my face away from the screen during the whole movie. Personally I like this kind of sci- fi. The dark, claustrophobic, tense scenario <more> |
Something out of nothing.... (by vipinkberwal) |
This movie had something in it which makes me ask why only 5.4/10 at IMDb... The movie has all ingredients to entertain, a good dialogue script, a very unique and an engaging plot, a proper ending, well portrayed expressions from all the actors. Somewhere in the movie you might think of set problems in the camera, sometimes you might try to predict the ending but this thing was way off all that, a total surprise.Frankly speaking I found animation in a few incidents compromising, but the movie makes for all of it. This movie is way better than 80% Sci-fi stuff we usually find everywhere. <more> |
